Cabinet refacing can really change the look of your cabinet as the cabinets do take up a lot of the surface area of your kitchen. It really adds to the beauty of the kitchen and your home in general. You need to consider a few things to decide if replacement is necessary or just a cabinet refacing job will do the trick.

If you have the stock cabinets that your home came with you may need to just need to do a little cabinet refacing of your cabinet. Check and make sure that your cabinet is still in good condition. You could just have a new paint job on it to get the new, improved look you want. A change of the handles can make the new look that you’re looking for as well as a part of cabinet refacing.

How to Keep Cool in Your House and Save on Energy Bills this Summer

The only thing more brutal than the summer heat is the energy bill you’ll get from the electric company. Keeping your house cool can be a challenge when you want to keep your utility bills and energy use in check. Fortunately, there are many techniques you can use to keep your house cool and comfortable without relying heavily on the AC.

Cook outside instead of inside. Every time you use the oven or stove, you heat up your home. Your home is getting hot enough from the sun without the extra heat that will remain trapped for hours. If you must cook, use the grill or set up an outdoor stove. Better yet, cook less and eat more cool, uncooked salads in the summer.

Add shade to the sunny side of your house. One side of your house will always be sunnier than the other. In North America, Europe, and all places in the northern hemisphere, the southern side of your house will get more sun.
Mitigate the extra heat from the sun by adding shading plants or trees to the southern side of your house.

How To Get A Refund From Your House After Foreclosure

Many homeowners don’t comprehend this, but there are many rules in place that keep your lender from taking advantage of you, while they are foreclosing on your home. Every day, I hear: My bank just wants to take my home because it’s worth more than the payoff. In some cases, this may be the case, but by law, your mortgage company must sell the home for its fair market value and pay you any proceeds over and above the amount owed. Lenders may try and take advantage of the fact that most borrowers don’t know the laws when it comes to foreclosure, but we’ll help you understand your rights and hopefully get some money back if you’ve lost your home.

The main issue we’ve seen is when lenders accept an offer on the home as quickly as possible, just to pay off the mortgage. After the foreclosure and eviction, mortgage companies seem to forget about following the laws. For example, lets assume your home is worth $300,000, but your total payoff is only $275,000. Your mortgage company has a legal responsibility to sell the home for it’s fair market value, which is $300,000. This would leave $25,000 for you. What usually ends up happening is the bank accepts the first offer they receive of, lets say, $250,000, then they sue the home owner for a $25,000 deficiency judgment.

In a case where the bank has a legal responsibility to pay $25,000 to the homeowner, instead they end up stealing the home and suing the homeowner for an additional $25,000. There is absolutely no reason the homeowner should have to pay for the the lenders neglect to sell the home at a fair price.

The Future Is Bright For High Density Polyethylene Outdoor Furniture

Furniture made from recycled plastics is gaining prominence in the outdoor furniture industry. Recent advancements in manufacturing the material have made it a feasible alternative to what is traditionally used.

High density polyethylene or HDPE is a material derived from the number 2 type of recycled plastic. The most common container is the gallon milk jug. They are those semi-white jugs that you can see through a little. They are not the material used for solid white containers or the clear 2-liter bottles.

One form of HDPE that has come onto the market is called Polywood. It essentially is plastic lumber produced from type 2 waste recovered from recycling centers. Polywood is actually heavier and stronger than lumber cut from wood. First, the recycled plastic is crushed into pellets and then melted in a pot. Next, ultra-violet substances and color are added. This gives HDPE a huge advantage over traditional wood lumber. The liquid is then cured in molds shaped to normal sizes of lumber. The final product has a grain finish instead of having a smooth polished feel. I expect this material will soon be sold side by side with wood lumber in the home improvement chain stores.
